No spark
No spark
Hello all
Have finished rebuilding my mk2 crm now, all went well and she looks great. Been riding around on her for a week now with no problems, running better than ever. UNTIL yesterday, the bike had a few cough's and splutters and then died. Now she will not start up again, There is no spark at all. Have read all the threads on this subject and have tried everything that has been said, i think. Is there any way of testing the coil???? And are the two wires that go to the kill switch meant to be joined to work the bike and broken to kill the bike????? Any advice would be really appreciated as now the rebuild is done all i want to do is ride her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers

There's a couple of things which would stop the bike running. If the kill switch was broke. Your right bout joining it, this bypasses the switch. The other is the side stand switch. This has been known to play up. Wants disconnecting and the wires need connecting. Someone mentioned that they joined all the wires together. LT said only 2 of them should be joined. Not sure on which 2.
Round the ignition, there's a block connector with 2 wires going to it. I think ones read, and the other is black and white. Make sure the connector block is good. Give it a spray and clean. As the black and white wire will stop the bike running if not connected properly.
HT Cap, if this was knackered then that'd stop it sparking.
Faulty CDI, usually goes if the rectifier packs up. Not very common that these go. A lot of people worry. Problems are usually something else.
Make sure all your earths have been reconnected to the frame and making good connection.
That's bout all i think that'll stop the bike sparking.
Good luck
