servo motor pot

has anyone fixed there servo motor,mine has just started to play up, stripped it down and found the pot to be at fault, the middle pin is loose, so some times it works some times it dont,
the pot says 5k iv looked at maplins but can only fine 4k7. .
does any one know if this will be ok or is it to far out...or has anyone got a servo motor for sale.. regards timo

Have a look at RS book 2 or on the internet they seem to list some 5K pots

timo, how did you go with the pot search? I'm still trying to find replacement gears for that unit.

I would have thought 4K5 would be OK. I will look tomorrow at work see what we have.
