Can any one help? Me and a mate both have the same fault with our mark 2's. When the engine is warm and in gear it still trys to pull you when the clutch lever is pulled right in. There is no clutch slip when under load and if you rev the bike at standstill it stops pulling. Oil is new and i have tried removing the basket and dressing up the Fingers where the plates have worn the basket. It is also very difficult to engage neutral if stopped. The cable appears to be adjusted correctly, is it a case of new plates will sort it or does anybody have other suggestions? Any info will be good, ta very much .

Carl,
The symptoms that you describe are definitely a case of clutch drag.
When did the problem start? Was it after you changed the gearbox oil? If you have had the clutch apart are you 100% certain that you reassembled it correctly? Im not sure about the CRM (havent had to take the clutch apart yet) but on other bikes that I have owned the clutch has to be set up correctly at both ends of the cable else it wont work correctly.

the drag was happening before the oil change and i have used fully synthetic putoline oil so dont suspect this to be the problem. i have cleaned up the basket inner and outer with no improvment. i did notice that the pressure plate had a ridge worn it where the last plate mates against it. if the administrator reads this could you please send me a price for a set of friction plates.ta ta carl.
