Newbie and Gear Box

Post by burntflea » 01 Jan 2007, 08:10

Hi!!
I recently just brought a CRM250 AR and it came with no manual, so I have a few questions, that if anyone can answer it would be greatly apprecaited..

Where to check the Gear Box Oil?? And do I check it hot or cold??

A loud abnormal pinging noise in the engine, it's still running perfectly fine; any ideas??

And it did have a mugen kit on it, but had to replace it with the standard pipe, due to the previous owner crashing out.

Thanks
-Katie

MANUAL for download or just view.
Gives you details on engine service intervals and tasks, incl' oil..

Is the noise constant,is it only at certain revs, revving up or down, more info the better... :D

The noise happens at random times and generally happens at low revs, of what i can hear anyway.

thanks for the manual site, very handy

Best take it to a mechanicaly minded friend, prolly a bit of piston slap as mine recently produced...
Failing that a local m/cycle shop.
Unfortunately most diagnosies by ear will only be that and cannot guarantee a true identification but perhaps will pinpoint the correct area for further examination... :)
BTW..horrible isn't it..
