cleaning my bike i noticed there is quite a lot of play in the front sprocket. the shaft doesn't move but the sprocket can be rocked from side to side. is this normal? the 2 securing bolts are both tight. the sides of the teeth have been worn to a polished finish.

yes mate there should be some play in itto compensate for the chain movement from side to side otherwise yourr chain would come off
