Wiring to rear indicators

Hi, I have just bought a CRM that I would like to MOT, but the wiring to the rear indicators is missing. Can anyone tell me where abouts I pick up the wiring in the engine area?
I have 3 wires going to the back for the rear light, earth, side light and brake light, but nothing else, and I cant find anything that looks like its been disconnected or cut.
Also........the fornt indicators are in place and wired up, but nothing happens with the engine running and the indicators switched on. Is this normal or do I have another problem?

To start there should be a connector under the seat behind the cdi, it may have fallen down , its a 4 pin connector and this is the block for the rear light unit. sorry cant remember what colour the wires should be.

point 2, behind the number plate there is (should be) a large round rubber think with 2 wires red and green coming out, this is the capacitor and with out it none of the lights will work, if that is ok try the wiring loom from the indicator switch, maybe the wires have corroded (does happen).

Hmmm, another step closer. Your info was about right Jon. Found the connector, its got 5 wires, and also found a note scribbled on the back of the manual that the previous owner gave me. It says
Orange LH ind
Grey RH ind
Green Tail light
Green yellow earth
Brown brake
I guess those are the wires I am looking for, but as the bike is still largely in bits, I cant run the engine to try just yet. Cant find any evidence of the capacitor. Do you kown where it should be connected to?
It should be back in a running condition over the weekend so I will see what happens then. Thanks for the info.

wobbli,what model crm is it?,mines a mk2 and doesn't have a capacitor for the rear lights

Thats brilliant slider.The colours pretty much tie in with what the previous owner had written on the back of the manual, and I am pleased about the capacitor. If the lights dont work now when I get the engine running, I think it will be down to corosion or faulty wiring, but I will post again after the weekend when I should have the bike back together.

if you take your rear pegs off and all the indys you can get a full MOT without indys (what i did with my CRM) :wink:

That's true, and without the rear pegs you dont need a chain guard. Also if you remove the indicators you must also remove(or hide/tape up :wink: ) the indicator switch. Depends how keen the mot tester is.
Another thing is, if you remove the indicators and rear foot rest's, you cannot enter a Rally in the "trail bike class", but you can enter in the "sports bike class" :)

the capacitor runs all the lights, i only know about it because i forgot to reconnect it when i changed my headlight and nothing worked until i reconnected it. Jon

bit of black elecy tape over the switch got mine though! :D

Pleased to say the bike is up a running again, and all the lights work bar the right indicators, which I think must be a bad connection, broken wire or something similar. Ran out of time to finish off, but all the other lights definitetly work, and without a capacitor at the back of the number plate. Perhaps the Mk2's dont need them? Anyway, should be in for its MOT next week sometime.

Well done Wobbli, and good luck with the MOT. I got a MK2, and there is no capacitor for the rear lights on mine :D
