The front sprocket on my Mk3 is held on by circlips but the Leisure Trail manual shows it screwed to a bracket.

There's a thin piece that slides over the shaft and then rotates round so that it won't come off again - then 2 bolts go through it into the sprocket.

That kinda makes sense in my head. Am I making sense when you look at the picture?

I'm trying to picture how yours if held on with circlips.

I think Eddie has got a large circlip where the sprocket retaining plate should be

Two circlips in fact . I'm just about to fit a new chain so I'll order a sprocket and retainer from LT along with the clips for the sump guard.
Best check the oil before I do any more riding

Has your sump guard got a hole in it, so you can change the oil without removing it

mines just got the circlip holding the front sprocket as well ed

Yes it has got a hole in it to drain the oil.
