Suspension linkage problems

Post by Bargos » 04 Jun 2003, 09:02

Guys

Got a couple of questions with regards to the suspension linkage on the Mark2, known as the dog bone :D

Two of the bearings on mine need replacing, the one that bolts to the tie rods and the one that bolts to the frame. Both have two sets of rollers (which have subsequently collapsed due to lack of lubrication).

Tom at LeisureTrail tells me that twin sets of rollers only exist on the dog bone for the MK1 and not the MK2, however he also told me that only one of the bearings on the MK1 is of the twin roller type and both of my knackered rolls have twin rollers!

F**k me im confused, can anyone shed any light on this?

Well, looks like young Tom at LT was right, mine has a MK1 dogbone. The rollers that he sent me for the linkage are the same as what I already have. All Ive got to do now is to put them in!

Agreed DC,

However I dont mind paying an engineer £5/£10 to put them in, might be worth buying a cheap bearing-puller? Ill go down to Fisher's at lunchtime and have a nose round.
