Just to explain the heading. I was given a choice in the shop EBC or some cheap ones. As it was just before Christmas I bought the cheap ones. Fitted them and the first ride was on the 23rd.
Soon after the start of today's ride the rear brake starts to make a noise, no,surely they couldn't have worn that quick, just vibration. Stopped at the end of the lane and looked at the caliper  pads fecked and now so is the disc :(
Probably should have spotted it, but even so.
So with brake pads it seems you get what you pay for.

No, No, the blemish is not with a CRM, it is with Eddie being too tight to buy decent pads

Tight and my CRM ownership does not compute. Money pit may be nearer the mark
The dilemma is that I bought some front ones at the same time. Do I fit these or take them back?
Mind you the bike redeemed itself by restarting on a particularly snotty hill transporting me to the top whilst others wallowed and wailed behind me

I would take the cheap crappy front ones back, if it bollocksed your rear disc why risk the front aswell?
I had to replace my front disk today as its got a small crack in it which could fail scrutineering. £55 for a new one and the rear is the same price.
I always use ebc pads and find them excellent, im using enduro pads in the front and there very good, i can only get standards for the rear as they dont make them for the mk1 anymore, there ok but there not as good as the enduro pads on the front. My front has done 400 miles and is fine, the rear had to be replaced after 400 miles and it should be 60/40 wear to the front so id pay a couple quid more for enduro pads.
