my gear selector is buggered !

what can i replace it with i fancy a chunky wurtz one !

will a CR 250 one fit or do i need a standard one !

I wa looking at ORO ? any advice please !

I was wondering what other model types would fit? LT do one, but it's a bit pricey

Mate all their stuff is pricey !

Thing is you ring them and you get exactly what you require !

ring some where else they dont know exactly but it might or might not fit ! you need to buy it to find out.

Dont get me wrong NCB, i'm not slagging LT off, i think they are great, and i'v always had excellent service from them I just think the price of the gear lever with them is a bit steep. Saying that, you can pay the price and get it, or have the hassle of searching out what does and what does not fit.

I am just stuck right there ! not sure which scenario to go for.............

LT do give good service and i wasnt biting i just hate having to rely on them for the definitive answer when there are different options.

Thing is i want to get it fit it and go ride and paying that bit more means i can ride it there an then. They just seem to be that bit more expensive.

Yes i know what you mean 'i carried a spare lever round with me all last year and the moment i needed it 'the bl@@dy thing didn't fit [ it was an old one from my MX days and the splined hole was too small for the A/Rs gear shaft' feck feck feckedy feck.

SORRY don't know off hand what other models lever might fit it' but if you experiment and its successful 'please let us all know.

Ive been in the garage and dusted off the vernier. Now, i dunno if my tatty MK2 has an original gear lever or not, but it fits and works fine..sooo...
The splined shaft measures just over 13mm diameter..the lever is approx 150mm long and the offset bend is approx 55mm..
Luckily, the ORO catalogue gives the shaft diameter, length and offset of a wide range of gear levers!
Closest match is..CR250/500 84-03.. BUT ORO state the shaft diameter as 13.5mm, as quite a few of the honda range are. The only other size is 11.5 mm, so thats pretty definitely not the one.
Maybe safer to try a cheapy steel one first? (£14.95 for a Dirt Racing one - CR250/500 87-05) coz at least you can tweak the bend in a vice if needed.
