Mk 2 Airbox

Post by kernow krusty » 21 Feb 2008, 20:31

Ok folks, some assistance please! Now Ive started to go through my MK 2, I find a previous expert has 'modded' the airbox! The regulator/rectifier thats supposed to be bolted to the bottom of the box has been cable tied on, due to the pillars breaking off the box. There is also a 10mm hole in the bottom of the box. Sooo.. I can fix the reg mounting, but..is the box fitted with a drain bladder? A squeezy tube with a non return kind of arrangement? Whats standard please!

yep there should be a squeezy bladder style thingy (per your description) on the ... (from memory) left hand side? but it should be mounted on tube... not a hole??

Cheers vilguy. It looks like the tube section has broken off, leaving the hole. Reckon I'll have to adapt summat from another airbox. Hmm.. a wanted add on here for a good airbox maybe worth a try.

Hi,
What about geting a large radiator barb and screwing it into the hole,
adding some pipe on the end will look like new.

similar to this but bigger maybe http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu ... ubcat=1049
