Ballpark jetting for a MK.2 with full DEP system?
Ballpark jetting for a MK.2 with full DEP system?
As above, can anyone advise on a rough ballpark main size for me to start from for a Mk.2 running a full DEP system. Stock aibox and premix.
Also need a source for the 'long' hex head mains if anyone can advise?
TIA

Have a look at the search facility, the imfo you need may be on there .
The head bolts are probably a high tension item , due to their location and purpose .For that reason they are best sourced from a reputable supplier, making sure you state it's intended purpose.

Thanks, Fallen'. Tried the search bit before posting but couldn't find any specific sizes or pointers really. For the time being I've just drilled a stock 128 out to about 1.32mm. the only other suitable jet I had to hand was a 155 which was way too rich. Seems fine at the moment, but have only bimbled up te lane because i suspect i may need to go a bit richer - esp as it's running premix too (anyone got an oil pump and drive gear they don't want?)
When I said long hex head mains, I was referring to the long heax head main jets that the CRM uses. Sorry, I should have made it clearer - I was typing quickly between fettling sessions. My cylinder head nuts are fine as far as I know...
Cheers

You have got to have some pretty expensive equipment to drill jets out correctly. I'd put money on you having a larger jet than you anticipated and an uneven passage and thus a misdirected spray pattern.
Why not just buy a new one? ~£6 inc postage and arrives the next day.
If you have searched you will have found that DEP pipe and silencer are not believed to change jetting. If you were using 128 main and premix before you fitted the exhaust then you would probably be fine staying with it. Plug chop is always the method to use as all engines are different, particularly as they get older and wear differently.

Lol, yes drilling it out (micro drill and a needle vice) was just a temporary stop gap as I don;t have jets of the right type to hand and couldn't get any easily today. I live out in the sticks, so need a mail order source of the right type really.
Basically I'm effectively new to CRMs having had a couple of CRMs sitting ignored at the back of the shed for a few years. But I've finally decided to sort one of them out as a winter bike. The one I'm working on had been used purely off road and had what I suspect to be a very badly dented CR crosser DEP pipe on it, and most of the airbox top hacked away, running a 155 main. It would run, but pretty badly. I want something a bit closer to stock so I pulled the proper CRM DEP off the other bike, but was a bit concerned that the stock main would be a bit lean - esp as It runs premix too. It's certainly much happier with the slightly bored out main, an unhacked airbox and the CRM-specific DEP (full system), but yes, I'll probably be putting a 'proper' main in it when i can find a supplier. I mostly ride road bikes (strokers of course :o)) so dirt stuff is all a bit of a mystery to me. I have plenty of the small hex head mains, but none of the longer head type the CRM uses, which are are sized differently too of course. I just wanted to get it somewhere near as I can't easily plug chop it yet as it's not really road worthy just yet.
You must be better with the search facility than me then, because all I could find was some general posts but no mention of jetting. I'll have another go...
Thanks for your help

PS. I'm assuming the little green electrical connector that clips to the right side of the frame between teh carb and the shock reservoir is the connector for the side stand switch, yes? Mine's been hacked and looped, but it'd be good to have confirmation...
Cheers

Try 'jetting' and 'rejetting' and 'jet*'
Your PS is correct about sidestand switch. Most end up like yours.
