Clutch

got back from a ride a few days ago and when I stopped on my driveway, in gear, with the clutch in I could feel the bike still pulling and wanting to move. I had a new cable at home anyway so put that on (as the one on there was not the correct cable and was 'tied off' at one end!) but it made no differance.

I understand the basics of a clutch but have never had a problem with one before - only ever replaced cables.
1. Is it possible to mess up installing a cable.... how do you adjust it correctly?
2. What to check next...

Could be warped plates or worn plates. Could be needs a oil change.

Could also be that you have worn grooves in the clutch basket.

Take the clutch off and check :?:

There is not much that you can do wrong when fitting a cable that would give your symptoms unless you have left way too much play in the lever.

Ok - will try oil change first - its been a while....

The cable is set up with normal free play at lever so after oil change it'll be 'rip it apart' time...

Thanks for your help Steve - thankfully it seems it just needed an oil change - Phew! Finally had a chance to take it for a good run today and all seemed fine.
