Suspension

So in a few months I'll be back in UK for a couple of months so am starting to plan what I can get done on the AR while I am there. The main down side of the bike I feel is the suspension. Bear in mind that I don't have a ton of money to spend (who has?) but need to weigh up cost v's improved gained. I also need to get the stuff in a suitcase!!! The other thing is that I don't, at the monent, have the time for upgrades that include major work to move mounting points etc. Having researched the forum for upgrades etc I am considering doing the following.
- Have the Rear Shock rebuilt.
- Buy some CR125 springs for the front forks.

So, I'd like some opinions/advice from those of you that have actually done suspension upgrades what you think of this plan???

Cheers
Mark

I had my forks and shock sorted by a guy and it has transformed the bike. I posted a note up on the forum and since then someone else has contacted him.

The guy to contact is Gav (Gavin) Lowes of Gforce suspension. 07787116492. He can do loads with them and has asked me to let him have a set of CRM forks so he can do some proper development on them. I will also loan him a shock off a Mk3 as well. He does not cost the earth. Post and packing is not bad, I think £10 one way delivery for forks or shock or both if sent together.

i have fitted 4.6n fork springs and a 105n shock spring.

It has greatly improved the suspension, and was definetly worth the money.

the fork springs were from a cr 125, but are 20mm shorter so need spacers.

The shock spring is a ktm item, fits straight on.

I still want to improve the damping. I want to have rebound damping adjusters, so i am still looking for forks and a shock to fit from another bike.

Feel free to get in touch if you need any more info.

Talk to Gavin at GForce - while I was there having my shock serviced he mentioned that he had a shock from tony (I think Mudfacetony from this forum) and he was planning to mod it so that it had rebound damping adjustment. This was back in August so he may have got around to it by now...

i have a set of 4.4n/mm fork springs i will sell.

I also have a 90 n/mm shock spring i will sell.

They are all k teck items and retail for £80 of the front pair, and £80 for the rear.

I will accept a reasonable offer for them. Half price of less. Dont hesitate to make me a low offer, i am not easliy offended.

They are all nearly new.

I fitted them to the bike, checked the sag, and them removed them.

I am now using 4.6n/mm fork springs and 105n/mm shock spring.

I weight 100 kg, in full riding gear.
