Exhaust Attachement-Help please
Hi there,
My pal has just got a new dep system, and he wants me to help him attach it.
All I need to know is, does the 'flange' on the exhaust (expansion chamber) bolt straight onto the engine, or are there any washers in between the two?
Cheers
Nick

Hi Nick,
Yep, there is a gasket between the expansion pipe and the block, and it's the sort that gets compressed as you tighten the mounting bolts, so it's unlikely you will get a good seal if you re-use it.
You could use the old one, but it will be a bit louder, and you might regret it if you stall in deep water!
You might also want to get different nuts(or a bunch of washers to put on the exhaust studs under the old nut), or the studs will go through the top of the dome nuts when you tighten them. The plate that holds the flange onto the block on the DEP is thinner than the Honda one.
Cheers
