Hi Harry, welcome to the site.If you have a try of the search facility, I'm fairly sure, forks, and servicing them is covered in depth.

Hi Harry there is a good description by Slider in this thread on how to strip the forks down to replace the seals. Following this description there won't be much else to remove before you can take the damping valve out of the bottom.

If by the 'nut' you mean the bolt in the centre of the base of the fork then pay particular attention to the thread on the rod that this fits into when you rebuild the forks.

and by turning it in trying to tighten it, it is now U S, so strip the forks and change the washer and it will be fine.

Thanks Jonorow , I`ve stripped the fork leg . Does the bolt undo easily or do I have to somehow hold the cartridge tube from turning ?
Cheers

reassemble the fork leg with the spring and top cap, push down on the bottom leg and undo the adjuster bolt. if this is still tight, you will need to use a tool to hold the damper rod (racespec do them)
