Thoughts on my gearbox problems.

As you guys may remember i was having trouble with my gear changes into second. It was just having trouble getting past neutral and into second.

So ive stripped it down to the gear changing mechanism. Heres a pic of the problem.

Whats happening is the gear form is not being allowed to move the neccesary length to change the gear fully. When i change the gear with my hand i can watch the gear drum moving bu the thing that locks it in gets stuck on the top of the neutral/second gear grooves. So i needs to be able to go further which is cant.

So iwas thinking of just filing out some of the gear change form plate so that it can move further.

What are your thoughts? Or is there something else that i can adjust or move?

Mike copy the link then delete back to main name, this will give you the album. Still couldn't work out the problem or the solution, but it seamed to have worked. i think the problem was a bit more fundamental but he found a fix for it. Good luck with it Loki anyway. Jon

Hey Guys sorry about that!

I ended up going ahead with what i said in the OP. And it worked! :)

Pretty stoked with that. It chnages into second no problems whats so ever. I cant believe it.

Theres a pic of what ihave modified. I just allowed the gear thing to travel a little furhter upward by removing some metal using a dremel.
