THC chain??

Post by xander77 » 14 Mar 2010, 19:44

Hi as the title says anyone used a THC O-Ring chain? saw this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/THC-O-Ring-520-H- ... 3a58b19d6b on eBay and it seems very cheap for an O-ring, is it cause the quality is poor? I know the answer is prob yes but if anyone has used this make it would be nice to know?

It is cheap because it is a Chinese brand. I have no experience of their chain.
I think the chances of it breaking are unlikely but the damage if it does can be high.
Could be worth trying?

My next chain will be a DID o ring. It may cost a bit more but I am expecting it to be value for money in the long term as it should last longer.

You have the case saver fitted :?:
From experience, Many years ago, I purchased at auction, a massive bench vice, which was something I needed at the time.
On inspection this vice was a Chinese import, and more than likely made from metal that had been hardened to the consistency of crackers[Chinese], one good clamping down stripped the threads straight of  "Hoo, phlung Dung", was amongst the expletives flying around the garage, along with bits of vice.

Whats the case saver??[/quote]

Case saver is the sprocket cover - a sacrificial piece that takes the hit if the chain breaks and hopefully 'saves your case'...
