Some advise please gentleman...

I am installing new chain and sprockets. New sprockets are 13T & 44T. I have cut the chain to 110 links and at present with the correct amount of free-play (about 3/4in) with swingarm elevated to longest length between sprockets the snail adjusters are on setting 15 of 40.

So,
Can I shorten by one more link?

How many links do any other AR owners have with this gearing?

Mark,as it's only possible to shorten the chain by 2 teeth, IMO, it would be better to run that chain for a while until some stretch has occurred, this also helps in stopping the tyre nobbles on the tread picking up the shock protecting plastic cover when the bike is reversed.

OK Mike, thanks for that. I'm guessing you mean 'links' instead of 'teeth' I wasn't planning on shortening the sprocket...

Well, no, if you look at your chain at either end, where the split link goes, you can't take out just the one tooths worth of chain, as you would be left with the link plates, and unable to rejoin the split link.

OK I see what you mean - you actually end up removing two links, one 'inner' and one 'outer' in order to use the split link (which is an 'outer' link) to rejoin the ends.

Yes, I've done it myself, *&%$*- locks, and had to put in two joiners
