Kick Start - Problem
Kick Start - Problem
Hi,
I've been roaming around the forums for a couple of months now since i bought my mrk2. I have found a lot of information here from a lot of you regulars. I would like to thank you all :)
Im no engineer, nor mechanic but i like to fix things myself, since i love to learn and second because iv been doing a lot of enduro so if i send the bike to the shop with every little problem i come across id be broke in no time.
Iv come up with a problem in which i cant find any information on. About 2 weeks ago i was off roading with a couple of friends. We decided to take a break and chill. When we decided to continue our trip, i kick started the bike like i normally do but this time, the bike didnt start and the kick start moved forward (clockwise). I thought my bolt was loose so i used a tool to unscrew it and repositioned the kick start. I tried firing it up again, this time the bike started but again the kick start sprung (hard) forward again. I started hearing a rattling noise and decided to head back home. When i got to my garage i found a rather big hole on my clutch cover (had to be the kick start that did it)
I drained my oil took the cover off and sent it to some guy to be repaired. Now im looking at the kickstart and spring and have no idea what to do. Any ideas what might be wrong with the kick start mechanism ? Or any suggestions to what i can do ?
Thank you so much !

Re: Kick Start - Problem
I had a similar problem after replacing some of the parts inside for the kick start cause it was slipping and the problem was that I didn't put the hole thing in the correct way. you need to make sure that all the sprockets are in good condition and not worn out, and make sure they are aligned correctly
