Snorkel on the air box?

Post by Eddie Evans » 28 Jun 2010, 13:23

I am just looking at fitting a replacement for the damaged air box on my bike and the replacement has the snorkel fitted, which looks to be standard fit. Now this snorkel looks ideal for wading through deep water but..

Does the snorkel fitted as standard restrict a lot of air flow into the air filter?

Where about is this restriction likely to be felt Top, bottom, middle or all the way through the rev range.

I can live with losing a bit off the top end but want all the snap I can get lower down. ;)

Thanks

My bike was stock when I got it. I pulled the airbox snorkel on it and it really didnt pull well afterwards at all, especially bottom and mid range. It was almost like running without a powervalve. I've since rejetted and am now running nicely without the snorkel!
