Does the plastic generator cover need a gasket ?

Should I have a gasket on the generator cover ?.
I would of thought it should have one,to stop water n crap getting in there ?

Not required, they will run underwater, HOWEVER, make sure the drain hole is clear of crud, and it certainly doesn't hurt to liberally spray some WD, or similar maintenance oil about.
Check and clean behind the cover frequently though.

Thanks,I am amazed its not required.
Surely if it floods,it will knacker the generator?

No. If you do flood it shortly before getting home I would take the cover off to allow it to dry rather than rust. They will dry themselves over a short ride as they get quite warm.
