Throttle cable.
Silly question, but does the throttle cable come apart, where the 1 splits into 2?
If so how do you do it?
If so how do you do it?
Re: Throttle cable.
not by design as far I know - although with brute force and ignorance anything come apart...
just depends on if you want to use it again afterwards...

Re: Throttle cable.
Well, it splits at the plastic box, one section going on to the carb, and the other to the auto lube pump.
It's a well known area for problems with sticking throttles, and for this reason I drill a small hole,[just large enough for a WD40 straw] to fit in to at the top of the box, and occasionally give it a generous squirt, but best to do this when the tops of the carb.
As Mark said though, I can't remember whether, by design it can be dismantled in a non destructive manner, if in doubt, go with the above idea, carefully, to avoid snagging the inner cable cores.

Re: Throttle cable.
I only ask because I've damaged the top cable when I hit a tree. I have got a spare throttle set, but didn't want to change everything.

From memory only, I'm almost sure the top of the joiner box can prised up, GENTLY, and the top/throttle portion of the cable replaced, which would also be a good time to oil the auto lube cable as well.Pie-eyedpiper wrote:I only ask because I've damaged the top cable when I hit a tree.
