My LH switch is u/s off my mk2, can't see anything that gives alternatives in the what fits what. Can anyone advise an alternative as CRM stuff seems to have dried up apart from a new one at £91+

Also been looking for XR 400 / XR 250 and drawn a blank

I have fitted an aftermarket light switch that came with a list of wire colours and what they did. Had to change the connector block and it had a 'passing' swtch, but worked it fine.

I got it on eBay from Spain and it was listed as an 'XR' part. I tried to find it when you listed previously but can't.

I spoke with one of the "sparkys" at work and he effectively said get a simialr switch and wire the stuff up yourself.

If it is a problem of corrosion then you can take them completly to pieces and give all the parts a good cleaning. Buttons etc can be replaced.

Smashed is another matter ...............

Completely worn out is the problem. It looks like the wire is OK and the contact is worn out. I have a switch (£15) from an XR8? the connector block is the same ans it has hi, dip, horn and indicators so the same number of wires, they are just in the wrong position in the connecting block. Best get the wire cutter and soldering iron out

Thanks Knackered, but panic over. The switch I bought had the right connector but the wires were all in the wrong order. I cut the lot and with an avo sorted cout what went where. The only problem was the horn. One of the connectors in the block is missing like the correct switch but in the wrong position so I ened up with a live feed from the headlight. I've got a decent soldering iron so soldered all the joints and it looks like a proper job!

oh, gor somw 96 /cr 250 forks and yokes so better suspension here we come!
