Play in Rear Shock

Post by Peter » 07 Sep 2011, 23:28

As I am now getting to the end of rebuilding my AR I have noticed that I have a some sideways play in the rear shock. Up and down is fine. When the shock was off the bike I checked the top bearing and the bearings in the lower link and all seemed fine. Is this normal???

Some sideways play is fine. You can never get the top and bottom to line up perfectly in the way motorcycles are manufactured and flex during suspension operation so there will always be some lateral movement.

Thanks for your reply Knack, I was a bit worried when I found the play as the bearings were all fine.

Just finishing off the wiring loom now which has gone back quite easy.
