just bought a mk 1 with no spark my local honda man says the spark genarator ... could be rong name but id say u no what i mean ... he says replace that but he wont guantee thats the fault ?? at the price he wants dose any 1 else no much bout this type of fault ?? any help much appreciated .. can i take all the wireing out an use cr type and not have all the crap problems ?

doubt the cr wiring would be any good
Im thinking about a bike with more valves than a powervalve

Check the plug first change it if it still doesnt work check the plug cap then the HT lead after that check the coil and coil wireing just look for were you have a voltage. I havent had this fault on my crm but I have on other bikes also check you kill switch.

Go through the basics first.
As has been mentioned the spark plug and lead
By-pass kill and side stand switches.
Then check all the connections behind the headlight and down along the frame.

You never know you might be lucky

yea mate all basics have been done before it went 2 the shop now its just a waiting game on the xpensive parts haha and hoping it not the bits i cant buy any more .. he says its now the pulse generator witch send signal 2 the cdi appanrtly an thats 200 bux so that has 2 be replaced before they can even test the cdi or any other issues so they say ??? its bit 2 indepth for my skills

Pulse generators from the CRM are common across several Honda bikes. From memory they are ~£30 each.

Part number - 30300-HA0-033
