Rear Indicators not working

Post by eddy_B » 20 Nov 2011, 18:14

Been putting a Mk3 CRM 250 back to standard after it had the wiring chopped and have hit upon a snag.

the rear indicators dont work.

Ive fitted a brand new relay and the front indicators come on and stay on but dont flash and the rear indicators dont come on at all or flash.

the rear brake light works correctly so I suspect power must be getting the the rear indicators as this wire splits from the brake light power wire.

any ideas

You haven't added LED one's to the rear have you? As I think they don't like being mixed.
It does sound like some continuity or grunge issue though.

sorry to go on about this.
Ive checked all the wiring and found nothing.
i have just fitted an original rear brake and set of indicators.

the brake light works perfectly and the front indicators are on permanently but dont flash.
(I think its the relay from an AR so they are meant to stay on)

But is there an earth missing

Anyone Im desperate, Also as Im in leeds UK does anyone know of any local motorbike electricians

Iv had to re wire the back end of my mk3 its not a hard job it sounds very much like you have a bad earth. I would be tempted to start at the relay check all that wiring as it sounds like you have power going through to it but for some reason it isnt working correctly again check the earth wiring.
