crm 250 mk2 squealing/whining noise

Hi to all, i really hope someone can help me here! my crm has developed a squealing/whining noise that seems to be coming from the right hand side of the engine, i have removed the balancer shaft thinking that it may have been a balancer bearing but after putting it back together it is still there and real loud, it seems to get quieter when i pull the clutch in but does not disappear completely.
there is no loss in power and rides just like normal, gear changes and clutch are all good. it is definitely isolated to engine but very hard to define where it is specifically. Anyone got any ideas?

Having looked at the obvious culprit, it could be the clutch assembly, thrust bearing, or a warped plate.

As FMtB says. Could be a bearing/spacer/washer on the clutch assembly or a warped plate.

You don't need to strip the engine to check this out. The only thing that might need an engine strip, but I'm not sure, is the main clutch drum bearing :? .

Thanks for the quick response's guys, i have not long chucked some second hand clutch plates as it was going to cost NZ $500 for just the plates ex Japan so i settled for some used ones.... probly not a smart move but a cheaper option no less. i will pull the clutch out and check or is there anyway to check this without cracking the case open again?
Being new to the site i was reading alot of the threads posted and saw the power valve is a bit dodgy in these bikes and sure enough discovered mine was no exception so i am in the process of getting a plastic servo sprocket.... needless to say i am stoked with the information and help this site provides! I will keep you informed with my progress. Cheers all!
