Chain guide

Post by Mudfacetony » 06 Feb 2012, 20:28

I've been doing a search on chain guides in the technical bit and only came accross some info from 2003 (LT replacement £49! back then). Mine is worn and I need a replacement. Has anyone found a reasonable priced one that does not need loads of mods? There sem to be plent on the market but which one fits can be a bit of a lottery.

Agree here Tony- been looking for one myself and LT now wants even more for it- over 55 quid I was quoted (inflation!). Am I right in thinking you looking for the rear swingarm plastic & metal chain guide (that screws into the top of the swing arm on the Mk3) or do you mean the under swingarm chain protector??

Under swing arm. I've seen a blue one made by acerbi for a yam that looks about the right size, I just need to find a shop that stocks them to compare the fit.

I need one of these- the plastic strop that goes around the top & front of the rear swingarm- the one from the XR doesn't fit, I tried it. Mine snapped off last year and the inventive little Vietnamese managed to mount something cut out from a car tyre!!
