Confession it's not a CRM problem - actually my CRM on road is faultless but posting on here for some help please
I'm lucky to have also owned a KTM530 EXC 2009 model fantastic bike I brought it partly because it was so different to the CRM. I'm no off road god it was a gentle giant but had a really wilde side, I enjoyed the bike immensely but part of the reason I sold it was that on road it would judder. Most noticeable when holding a constant speed I could first detect it around 35mph but was at its worse around 60mph. It was not a wobble or head shake best way of describing it was that it was like wheels are egg shaped. The judder is Rythmic and always the same:- smooth, smooth judder judder judder smooth smooth it shakes your arms and makes it difficult to focus. I ride green lanes a lot so spend 60% on road so this gets very tiring and I think that it must be doing same off road thereby making bike unstable.
Sold the 530 and brought a Husaberg FE450 awesome bike absolutely love it but guess what exactly the same as the 530 on road judder. Internet searches have not provided any answers, any ideas?

Do you run with tyre sealant in the tube?
I have noticed the phenomenon you describe before, but found adding the above acted a wheel balancing medium, due to some scientific effect beyond my ability to explain.
The rim lock effectively puts a heavy spot on one point of the rim.

dont no if its the same but i got this problem after fitting mousses , read online and after reading a few posts took out the front rim lock and normal service resumed

I have found front rim locks to cause this. Either remove or balance with lead sheeting wrapped around the spokes. Do the balancing with the front wheel off the ground until the wheel stays in any position without turning.

To be honest I've never found a purpose for front rim locks unless using trials tyres.

Hi there, had a similar problem on my crm and it turned out to be the rim had split slightly where it's been originally welded from the factory as the rims are originally one piece then bent and welded together, it sounds very similar to your problem, if you look closely at any rim and you can faintly see where it's been welded, cheers, mike

I removed the rim lock, it was a light weight rubber one not like the steel & rubber in my CRM but this made little difference so I bit the bullet and fitted a new front tyre threw away what looked a good Metzler 6 days and fitted a Maxis road legal motocross tyre. This helped but the judder was still there so installed 8floz slime which made little difference. It is better which to me means tyre pattern has some thing to do with it but not all, so next will be looking at suspension. Like a lot of others I have not spent much time setting up sag etc so will give this a go and report back

Motocross tyres are famous for their 'judder' tendencies at higher speeds and especially on the road- noticable about 50km/hr or more. This is one reason they are not good for the road. Just wondering if your wheel (and or tyre) is out of balance- which could be increased by factors like rim locks or badly cast hubs too...
