can you tell me why my Mk3 CDI has 16 pins instead of 14 as stated in leisure trail manual??

I have a Mk3 also with 16pin, and curently cannot find any information,
Testing the harness to date makes me beleive that its an AR wiring diagram with solenoids, throttle sensor, clutch switch missing and gear selector replaced by neutral switch.
Currently re-creating an acurate wiring diagram, but looks like the later Mk3's 16pin CDI were a steping stone to the 24pin AR.
