Hi all about 6 months ago i purchased a crm 250 mk3 which was previously stolen and recovered and rewired by previous owner now when i got it it had mot etc so i didnt bother about the dim lights and no horn but now the mot is due i feel i need to sort this out i have changed stator and regulator rectifier but the voltage is still low about 4 volts from red and green wires ,now reading through various threads on here a lot of people mention something called a capacitor now i have a wiring diagram of my bike and can see a capacitor on diagram but there isnt one on my bike anywhere i dont have the conventional speedo either or indicators i have an aftermarket speedo run from battery and there is nothing hidden under it !!
does anyone have a pic of this capacitor or know where i can purchase one thanks:).

CRM's don't have a battery, but the capacitor is about the size of a "d" battery, [torch battery] and is normally located alongside the headstock, it's black with a couple of wires going to it.

so if u got a battery seems your wiring has deviated from the standard a little bit....

but I had a quiet horn too - until I fixed the 'nicked' cable to the capacitor - is a black cylinder nearly an inch across N 2 inched long wit 2 wires feeeding it...

cables goin under the headstock might have got mashed at some point...

hi thanks for the reply i havent got a battery on my bike as such only a battery in the back of the electronic speedo
the rest runs straight off the stator, its definitely missing this capacitor as there isnt one on the bike at all .
I rang leisuretrail today but they havent got one and they are discontinued so im a bit buggered unless someone has a spare i could purchase ,looking on ebay they list one for a trx450 with two wires coming out of it might have to give one of them a try but they are all in usa :(.
