no lights or blinkers working
no lights or blinkers working
hi there i have a crm250 m2 which starts and runs fine but none of the lights or blinkers work :s i have tried looking on here for the correct resistances to test the stator because i figured that would be a good place to start but haven't been able to find any. If some one could direct me or post them here that would be much appreciated or if they have any other ideas on where i should start ?
thanks daniel
thanks daniel

Re: no lights or blinkers working
brake light working? horn working? to check connections to the stator unit the left radiator needs to come off you shouldn't have to disconnect it completely.
check all connections behind the headlight try not to get lost behind there
to pull the stator connection away from the lug you will need a small flat screwdriver and im sure you slot it underneath between the flap bit and lug, if you look at the powervalve motor connection (left hand side near the seat) its exactly the same procedure to unclip it.

Re: no lights or blinkers working
Also, check the connector block from the control switches on the left handlebar - should be behind the headlight - lights etc could be working, but switch not connected or full of crud, or broken wires....possibly try swapping for another one if you have any mates with CRM's locally
Re: no lights or blinkers working
no lights at all are working no "dash" lights either :s its like it has no power, capacitor maybe? when i check the stator is there any way i can check the coils using a multimeter what resistances should i be looking for ?
i will check all connections again and check the control switches tomorrow when i have a chance.
thanks guys.

Check the connector block from the ignition barrel, try wiggling wires whilst the engine is running

Re: no lights or blinkers working
Start by checking the voltage output from the voltage regulator......that is the very first step.
Re: no lights or blinkers working
ok so i have checked volts from the regulator on the red and green wires and am only getting around 3 to 4 volts at idle. is this normal? i was kinda expecting somewhere closer to 12v?

Re: no lights or blinkers working
The resistances etc are in the AR manual which is in the 'FAQ .....' section under 'manuals .......'
You can a stator rewound or buy another second hand.
