Help? Chain snatchy at low speed

Post by Retro » 17 Sep 2014, 10:37

Hi,
Cant seem to sort this one out, so any ideas welcome.

My Mk2 runs perfectly and I 'now' have very little issue with it( touch wood).
However, at slow speed/low revs the chain seems to snatch quite often and almost feel like it gets stuck for a moment???? Will only do it a low revs, fine all other times.
I have adjusted the chain (quite a bit) and checked the sprockets which all seem fine. Has anyone got any ideas?

I did wonder if it was the chain guide, but that also seems ok.

Perhaps a tuning issue?????

Help......

Try turning the airscrew in 1/4 of a turn.

'Should be' is an estimate by Honda. Environment and the condition of the engine , intake and exhaust all affect this.

Heliupp is correct in that some fine tuning of your carburation will improve things but you might not get it perfect.

It's also a a 2T trait, on a quiet piece of road or land try slowing down using both brakes, but holding on to a few revs on the engine, you will find almost all the chain slapping will disappear,as will the overrun pop, popping from the exhaust.
2T are only happy when their pulling, they loath even throttle, and decelerating.
