Powervalve stopped again!!

Post by gregorious77 » 19 Oct 2014, 21:50

Heard the exhaust note change on the trails today and you guessed it the servo was no longer running.
Not checked it all out yet but my gut feeling is repaired PGM death! If so its off for repair again and chinese one on order for backup.
I have a love hate relationship with this bike.

Have you checked the operation of all the valves components? sounds like something is causing the brain to blow.

The reg/rec can also knock out the PGM, otherwise you've just been unlucky.

Hhmmme, that's a pi55er. New, or new second hand?, genuine or Etrex?

Found problem with PGM! wire has come off board. not sure if its got hot and unsoldered or just vibrated off?!?
Reg/Rec off to work with me tomorrow for testing.

Yep that got hot............

£90 plus a repair to PGM if it can be repaired

If you read FAQ you will see that you should always check voltage output of Regulator if a PGM fails.

When rebuilding my ARs I just put new ones on as a matter of course so I know everything will work.

Fixed but lasted 10 seconds or so!
Going to give up on the Honda PGM and go for a STPS controller from Ignitech. Cheapest option and I can play with it too.
I know someone on here told me they run one on an AR with no problems.
