mk3 output shaft seal

Post by 2Smoke » 31 Oct 2014, 20:42

The output shaft seal on my mk3 is leaking.

I'm struggling to find the seal anywhere, does anyone have any leads? Will one off say a cr fit?

Or if anyone has a part number for one that would be dandy!

Thanks,
Paul

Thought I found one on ebay, but it turned out to be wrong. Am waiting on the local Honda dealer now, otherwise will do it the old fashioned way and measure the seal then go to a bearing factors..

You know, I've looked and looked through the FAQ, searched the forum. Wood for trees.

24x40x7 in the AR parts manual (All this size output seals will fit all but Mk1. Mk1 has a different setup (three parts) as the sprocket is fixed with a bolt.)

Mine is leaking on the AR.
See this thread being updated did help someone. Me
Off to order a 24x40x7 seal and then have a fight getting the original out!!
I know the self tapper trick but any other advice welcome. Might do the gear selector one while I am there its not leaking but is wet. It has been dripped on by the above though.

Got this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161640081516? ... EBIDX%3AIT
Went for this one because it is a double lip seal.
Took under 20 mins to strip, remove old one, fit and put back together.
