Piston and rings

Post by gregorious77 » 28 Feb 2015, 11:02

How often do you replace? How long is a piece of string?
While I had my spanny off I had a sneaky pee up the exhaust port and was met with a nice looking piston and lovely bore with honing marks still present.
Question is do you guys go by milage (12k miles) or by starting (2nd/3rd kick unless left for weeks) or compression test (not done).
Pcs up the port (ooo errr)

I do have a spare barrel which is also tip top.

I recommend stripping the bike down, full crank rebuild and a new seat cover with matching handlebar grips.

Stop peeking and keep it going.

The bike will let you know when something is up, just keep using good oil.

12,000 miles, its just run in.
