Main Jet
I have a MK1 here that is smoking quite heavily. I'm going to check some of the obvious thing oil pump, float height etc.
The main jet is 140, I believe it should be 132. I seam to remember being told in the past to change the main jet in intervals of 5, so if I want to go down a size I would change the 140 for a 135. Is this correct or should I be changing 1 size at a time?

Should be 132 Mk 1 MK 2128, Mk 3 150 AR 148 so it seems as if the go in 2's.

Sometimes 2 sometimes 3.
