oil pump question
oil pump question
Hi I have noticed an oil leak from the oil pump on my crm250 1992 model at first i thought it was 2 stroke oil but it seems to be gearbox oil,I removed the pump and looks like there is an o ring sealing it to the case however the shaft which goes to the pump is now floating in the clutch case i refitted the pump onto the shaft with a little jiggling about and it seems fine just wanted to know if its normal for the shaft to be floating without the oil pump fitted ? anyway i still need a new o ring and cant seem to get one anywhere on-line is it a case of measuring and buying a non Honda item
thanks
thanks
Re: oil pump question
For parts the PDF format parts micro fiche is a god send , all you need to do is find the part number & type it into the David Silver spares finder or the Fowler's of Bristol parts finder or you can call Leisure Trail .
Re: oil pump question
OK nipped into the garage on the I can't see any play with the oil pump , on the inside of the crank case there's a nylon cog held on by a circlip , hope this helps
Re: oil pump question
Hi Thanks for the photos is it ok to remove the pump without removing the clutch case because thats what i have done.what it leaves behind is the shaft with the worm drive on it which is floating until the pump is refitted, should the shaft come out of the pump or have i broke it ??thanks for the info
