Hi,

I have noticed my swingarm chain slipper was missing. I have rang leisure trail and they wanted £65 for one! I'm just wondering if anyone has used a cheaper other model/make slipper and how did they get one?

I have seen an universal one on eBay for about £10 but not to sure if it would be easy to make it fit.

have a look around i'm sure someone got one off another bike to fit in one of the rebuilds

The only one I know of (and I have some experience of this) that fits is the Honda CRM specific. If you want to experiment with bits of rubber and tyres then go for it.............

not sure if this worked ok but in this thread the guy used one off a yz-125 , he had to drill & tap new holes and he didn't say which year although i had a scout round & found a 98 looks ok and half the price , it's upto you if you want to bit the bullet

It may be a bit galling, given it's only a lump of shaped rubber, but they don't wear out that often, and the OEM will bolt straight on without issue, IMO.

As Mike said, they last for ages, saves wear and tear on your chain, in addition to saving the bearing housing on your swing arm, money well spent imho.

Honda are unfortunately past masters at making the same parts,but model specific. As a business model of course it makes sense. Look at their bearings, they all vary just a smidge from what could be bought over the counter for a quarter of the money, funny eh?
You could look round for ages and find something that nearly does the job, after some fettling.
On this occasion I would say bite on the bullet and buy one, but continue the search for a more reasonable option, at least you'll e be out riding in the interim.

I got mine off there - been on for a few years now..

if its just the rubber missing i had the same issue just before weston beach race how it went missing il never know i made one out of a 99p rubber mallet one of the best creative bodge jobs ive ever done........and it lasted no problem i can back this little gem i sawn/drilled up 100%

As refered to by Jompy, I adapted a chain slider from a Yamaha YZ-125. I can't remember what year model but it was a late model so it was cheap and available locally (1/3 to 1/2 the price of a CRM slider).

You could possibly fit other sliders. Just wrap the slider around the swingarm in line with the chain, mark the holes, drill and tap, then install it with countersunk screws and dimple washers.
