crank seals

Has anyone on here cross referenced their crank seals and bought non honda items.I contacted my local bearing shop and their seals are £30 cheaper for a pair than honda.has anyone used aftermarket seals ?

You can get the "viton" seals for less than the the cost of standard Honda seals.
They will out perform most any other seal.

91203-KAE-003 main bearing oil seal generator side £ 7.70
91354-KAE-000 o-ring for crank clutch side £ 1.73
or am i being a numpty again ?

I got a price from fowlers

my local bearing shop can do the pair for £10
where did you get your prices from ??

Mine were from Leisure Trail Inc VAT so O.E.M
I used to shop around especially with bearings but to be fair I thought the O.E.M prices weren't too bad

Here's a reference that I use to look up the TC equivalent oil seal;

all you need to do is measure the shaft diameter or seal ID, the housing diameter or seal OD and the thickness.

The TC part number is then commonly available and much cheaper than the Honda part.
