Steering lock

Hi all, My steering lock doesn't work, you can push the key in and turn it slightly, but it will not go all the way around to lock. I have taken the lock off but dont want to force it apart incase i break it. Has anybody had this problem, and how did you fix it? Jon

you state you dont want to force it apart incase you break it , Hmm , Its allready broke isnt it , lol ,Just take it off and inspect it ,If it looks like its jammes ,then it is , Probably someones had a go at nicking it , If it looks sound then leave it in some parrafin overnight to see if it unsezes itself..

no the lock isn't broken, it just wont lock. the ignition switch works perfectly. I just want to know how they come apart before i snap all the plastic casing and then have to shell out over a hundred notes for a new one. oh and no one has tried forcing it with a screwdriver either.
