Indicators

I'm Trying to get the indicators working for the red kite. Back ones work fine but the front are on permanently, but they will flash if i flick the switch on. This is driving me nuts, this is why you don't want indicators rant rant rant.

Help anyone electrical :?

I've just read a post that says the front indicators are supposed to be on all the time and that this is normal. Is this true, or is this bollocks? :?

Thanks, I was about to start amputating wires. What a wierd idea though, having them on permanently. I'll be taking them off straight after the rally.

Yeah, bang on the button Davey. Didn't realise you had an AR .
Front ones stay on, and when they flash to indicate, they flash a bit brighter :)

No, Ive got a mk3. Maybe it's bee upgrade with super go-faster AR indicators :D . Now I feel that I got a real bargain when I bought it. All I have to do is paint my clutch cover gold, and I'll get more low-down torque. These CRM's are amazing
In all seriousness though, I never really liked 2strokes, and was a pure 4 stroke man, but I've changed my mind. These bike are cool off road once you learn to use the clutch properly.

I have a MK3 and the indicators on the front glow all the time but are brighter when flashing, it was failed by a local MOT tester for that reason, took it somewhere else and passed, he said some model Harleys do the same thing from new and nobody fails them!!

I have a mk3 which is a 94 (RR) but it registered as 98? but the indicators stay on permanently. some MOT stations seem to not like it but mine sailed through, The most attention he paid was to the tyres to check they are road legal. I'd say if in dought ask the tester first and if he doesn't like it, go somewhere else. Harleys have them on prmanently and they all pass so why not a CRM?

I posted a how to a while back.you need a new flasher unit halfords £19.99. the black wire in the flasher is actually your live , plug that into the red wire on the new flasher you either omit the dash light or wire it using diodes [black things with silver bands indicating the negitive ends usually free with led indicators also available from halfords]green and red wire.just join orange and orange/white blue and blue/white together. to help you test without runing bike use apower adapter connected to the [I think red wire on the capaciter near stearing yolk and black wire on any piace of frame but take out your front and rear bulbs or there wont be enough power.write a new topic to me if you get stuck too much wine is confusing my mind.do not try to adapt your original it wont work .
