on my endless search to powervalve problem hunting, I was looking at an AR
wiring diagram today, which I found was more different to the MK3 one than I
imagined. From a quick scan it looks like the throttle sensor could play a prominent
part in the problem.

sussed it.. it's the little resistor gadget thats attatched to the carb.

I thought throttle posistion sensors were only used on FI carbs?
why would a non FI carb have one.. could it be to give the auto lube information? noticed there is what looks like an airsensor too in the
port. must be to do with the AR fandanglery.

I would be interested to know what gives the CDI the RPM info.
I'm thinking the coils. maybe there is a simple way of fooling the CDi
to bypass the rpm restriction </thinking_aloud>
