CRM/CR - Whats involved??

Hi folks,
I fancy a CRM engined CR250, like what they built in TBM a while back. That project spread out over quite a few issues, and I cant discover which issue gave the techy details on the job. Anyone done it/seen it? how feasible is it? Whats the trickiest bit of the project?
All advice greatfully received. (Even if its 'wake up and smell the premix').

It is entirely possible. The hardest part I imagine is getting the engine into the frame. Fine cutting, measuring and welding skills needed. Need to get the engine lined up with the rear sproket and straight.

Hanging brackets for all the ancillary CRM stuff can't be too difficult (electrical, oil, sidestand ....) . Suspension will have to be softened (springing & damping) if you want it to ride on the trail & road.

If you are reasonably skilled, very persistent and have a lot of time it must be doable. But I have seen/heard of so many CR/CRM and straight CRM projects that have foundered due to a lack of the of these characteristics and money.

Im fairly keen with the spanners and have a v good mate who is a particularly fine mechanical and fabrication engineer. Hes done a lot of ' i'll just plop this into that' kind of projects, and would assist on the precision bits. The really annoying thing is, hes a bloody good rider too! (British Enduro sidecar championship class winner!). Like you say. ANYTHING is possible! Hmm..would be a nice special though.....
