Fitting a cheap hydraulic clutch
Fitting a cheap hydraulic clutch
Well it was mentioned a few moths ago and now i have fitted it.
I bought a pitbike hydraulic clutch (search on ebay and you'll find the one) When it arrived i thought this was a waste of money. It didn't move, it looked too short and the reach of the slave was too long. But after a bit of measuring it turned out that the hose might do and it was just in need of a return spring to make it move. admitidly the reach was too long but a chop and re-tap sorted that out. So here are the picks. Works ok but the feel of the lever is a bit rough, but that can be sorted at a later date

Blimey!! Ive just had a peep on Fleabay... they are around the $20-$30 mark! Or buy it now $45, which is about £22. So, with postage, under £35..thats pretty good!
And cant be very expensive to get a slightly longer hose made up, or off the shelf braided brake type one.
Just a shame it was designed for Barbies pit bike.....

I phoned the Ramblers today, but the bloke on the phone just went on and on....
Re: Fitting a cheap hydraulic clutch
colour is a bit of an issue but a quick 5 mins with a can of spray should sort that. not going to bother untill i test it
initial impretions are good but will report later. Jon

oh and the thread on the nipple is M2x0.4 so you may have to buy a tap to shorten the rod, but these are only a couple of quid.Jon
