Why is it when i get on my AR i never know what sort of bike i'm going to be riding? One minute it feels like a trail bike and the next time it's like riding a motocrosser. Why?
Any ideas?

Perhaps a bit more imfo might be needed for an accurate diagnosisfrostoff wrote:Why is it when i get on my AR i never know what sort of bike i'm going to be riding? One minute it feels like a trail bike and the next time it's like riding a motocrosser. Why?

Re: AR
It seems that if i switch the ignition off and then back on, this seems to have an effect. I am starting to wonder if it is a throttle sensor problem. It does not rev it's nuts off at all, it just that there is no low down grunt, but takes off when it hits the powerband.

Hi Frostoff,
I have just seen this post after your reg/rec testing thread. This is the same problem I had
when my Cdi was on the way out. If you take the cover off the power valve arm
you will most likely see that the power valve works sometimes and sometimes not.
for instance -- it will be working fine until you turn the engine off, then the power valve
might not function at all the next time you start. Mine went on working intermittantly for a
few weeks before it stopped completley and no matter how many times I switched on and off the ignition
it failed to revive. If it is a Cdi problem I'm afraid there is very little you can do to be honest - it will stop working eventually. The only other possibillity could be loose wiring, check and clean all plugs and connectors. when the powervalve
isent working - try giving the servo motor (the black plastic box behind the right radiator) a few light taps with
a spanner to see if it springs to life. This would suggest a prob with that and if it is more tests can be made to
it to determine what is wrong with it.
