Tips on pushing the rear brake piston in?
Tips on pushing the rear brake piston in?
My brakes were binding, so I removed the rear caliper from the bike to give them a good clean and fit new pads while I was there. I left the pistons in the caliper and just brushed them up with a tooth brush - installed some new pads, but the pads are touching each other and there is no gap to fit the disc in between, tried pushing them back by hand and a small clamp, any ideas?

vice or i use plumber grips
if you aint coming off you aint riding hard enough!
Re: Tips on pushing the rear brake piston in?
once its pushed in, I assume it will stay there if I rmove the clamp? since there is no fluid back pressure.
just thinking that the clamp will get in the way when I am putting it over the disc if not.

Cheers Nabz I sorted it, dident have a vice or clamp strong enought but had a small bracket handy, that worked.
You don't recognise where this rubber grommet belongs do you?

- it fell out while I was putting the caliper back on.
