Connecting a battery to test the electrics
Re: Connecting a battery to test the electrics
Cheers Tony,
Seems like I am getting advice from the right person
I couldent be happier with the 60CSX to be honest. Fantastic unit.
I picked it up pretty cheaply second hand with a touratech mount included with it.
Just used it for a 4 month bike tour of New Zealand and ran it off batteries the entire
time and like you say the battery life is very impressive. I just thought that while
I have the mount with the power lead and have already soldered the wires to the
headlight I might as well utilise it. I heard there was a capciter in the head light
so seemed like a good place to tap into. I appericiate the help. Let me know if you
find out what would be best.
Nick

Re: Connecting a battery to test the electrics
Hi Scrubs,
OK, Ive run my Mk 2 up and with the capacitor connected, the volts are pretty steady at between 14.2 and 14.5v, depending on any load switched on. Your 60 Csx will run fine on that, so Id not bother with the extra reg unit. Id still be inclined to fit an inline fuse of some sort, 1A max.
Regards KK

I phoned the Ramblers today, but the bloke on the phone just went on and on....

Chers for that K,
I apperciate it. I'll just hook it straight to the headlamp.
