oil colour

this is the colour of the oil iv drained out today
i only changed it 2 weeks ago

what would you guys say is wrong i thought maybe headgasket but iv not lost no water or coolant ??

Hi sparky,
that def looks emulsified.. ie.. mixed with water. Ive not been into my engine far enough yet to know if it can get back past water pump shaft seal..
If its not using coolant, slurped any up the crankcase breather tube? Been a little over eager with jet wash? Final one, which is a very long shot, someone playing silly buggers and poured some in?
Doesnt look like youve had too much added, you sure its not a small amount of coolant?

just re-read your oil leak post...any chance youve forced some water past the duff gear change shaft seal??

the engine hasbeen fully submerged in a puddle
as it does everytime i go greenlaning on it never had the oil like that before tho i change it every 2/4 weeks
its locked up in the garage when its not in use and only i have access to it
and i never leave it unnatended as i only use it at the weekend for greenlaning so no one could have got to it :?


the water and coolant levels have not moved at all

It maybe that it sucked some water in on last ride due to duff seal :?: Change the seal - I suspect it will right itself though the next oil change may be a bit cloudy.

there was also grass behind the seal :? so i should imagine water could have got in there easy

When you have got the seal off you might want to check the straightness of the shaft. You probably need to withdraw the whole thing which you can do by taking the clutch cover off. That would give you a better view of water/scum deposits in the cases :?:

Have you clonked it recently :?:

Also Sparky, a little tip from Slider that worked for me 8) Re-route the crankcase breather tube up under the tank, or to the headstock. When the engine gets emersed in water, it causes a vacuum in the crankcases and sucks in water through the breather pipe.
